The York Region Science and Technology Fair, also known as YRSTF, is an exciting opportunity for students in York Region to share their scientific research with their peers, community, and experts in their field. Students have the opportunity to display their work, talk to experts in their field, and learn from each other.
Our RHMS Grade 7 & 8 students were exceptional and strongly represented our school with pride. We would like to congratulate all who participated and placed with medals for their achievements.
No Plastic Beyond this Point:
The students won a GOLD Medal at the RHMS Science Expo and placed with a SILVER Medal at YRSTF.
$150 Cash Prize - Water Environment Association of Ontario Award - project focused on innovative ideas for preserving and/or enhancing Ontario's water environment.
$100 Cash Price - YRSTF Challenge Winner - Awarded Best in Environment and Climate Change.
Special Invitation by City of Markham to Markham Earth Day April 20th Event as Project presentation and board display.
Unravelling the Flaws of the MLB - Base re-design:
The students won a BRONZE Medal at the RHMS Science Expo and placed with a BRONZE Medal at YRSTF.
Instant Extinguish - Wildfire and Campfire Safety:
The students won a BRONZE Medal at the RHMS Science Expo and placed with a BRONZE Medal at YRSTF.
Bio-Patch - Biodegradable Bandage to reduce medical waste:
The students won a SILVER Medal at the RHMS Science Expo and received an honourable mention at YRSTF.
Cleaning up Oil Spills:
The student won a GOLD Medal at the RHMS Science Expo and was a YRSTF Participant.
