Harvesting Joy

As a component of the annual Grade Eight Legacy Project, RHMS students spent the last couple of months growing tomato seedlings in their classroom.  These seedlings were then brought to a local community garden for planting.  Here students had the opportunity to learn about all the hard work that goes into growing and maintaining a garden.

Everyone got some great hands-on experience with preparing garden beds, planting zucchini and pumpkin seeds, and digging out weeds. Students were able to plant the tomato seedlings which they had grown themselves.

All produce from these tomato plants will be harvested and donated to our local food bank. We look forward to seeing how these plants will grow over the next several weeks!
