The 2024-2025 school year is quickly approaching. RHMS will be holding our school Meet & Greet this week. We are looking forward to seeing our community come together to prepare for back to school.
Here are some helpful tips to prepare your child for the new school year.
Attend The Meet & Greet Night - Attendance at our Meet and Greet Night is mandatory. This is when you and your child meet your teachers, visit the new classroom, and are provided with guidelines and expectations for the year. All parents will receive an invitation to attend the RHMS Meet and Greet at the end of August.
Start Earlier Bedtimes - End the summer by starting bedtime earlier so your child gets used to the routine of ‘early to bed’ and ‘early to rise’. This will make the transition to a school year routine much easier for the entire family.
Be A Positive Role Model - Make sure you have a happy face the first day of school and thereafter, so your child sees not only by your words, but also from your body language, that school is a good place to be. Maintain this positive attitude about the school and your child’s teachers, as you have a tremendous influence over the attitude your child will develop toward their own education.
Be On Time - Attend school on time to avoid the stress of having to be late. This will help your child to be relaxed and excited for the school day, and understand the importance of being on time.
Prepare Your Child’s Snacks & Lunches - Review the RHMS Food Policy and prepare for your child’s snacks and lunches in accordance with it. Hot lunch delivery is available through The Lunch Lady.
Have Your Child’s Uniform Ready - Make certain all parts of your child’s uniform fit comfortably. If you need to purchase the uniform or certain pieces of the uniform, please visit the In School Wear Store. They will be happy to assist you with your child’s needs.
Be Involved - During the school year, show your child you support their school environment by attending school functions and Parent-Teacher Interview days.
These are just a few suggestions to help you start preparing for September. You will be able to find more information and our school procedures online on our RHMS Welcome Back parent resource board.
