Defying Gravity

RHMS Grade 2 students collaborated in class and their goal was to create the tallest tower out of paper cups. Our student engineers had a great time with this STEM challenge teaching them how to solve problems such as distributing weight while building, to ensure that the tower stood strong without falling over. 

The students needed a strong foundation to allow them to build upwards. They were encouraged to explore gravity and the design of the structure to help it hold itself in place.
